Skiers and snowboarders urged to get gear checked
With most people's first day on the mountain this year looming, the New Zealand Snow Industries Federation is urging people to take advantage of free ski and snowboard equipment checks.
Many people are injured unnecessarily each year on the slopes due to malfunctioning gear.
NZSIF members throughout the country are tackling the problem head on with free snow equipment checks.
To get an equipment check, simply take your gear - skis, boards and boots - into an NZSIF member retailer identified by an NZSIF and equipment check sticker. Each item is inspected free of charge by a professional, and will help give you piece of mind when you hit the slopes.
A full list of NZSIF members is available at www.nzsif.org.nz
