GALLERY BABES
Wednesday 6 August, 10.30am
City Gallery Wellington
Mums and Dads, Grandparents and caregivers– bring the baby in the buggy and join us for a family-friendly tour of Fiona Hall: Force Field. Australian artist Fiona Hall’s work is characterised by startling transformations of everyday materials and objects – American dollars are woven into birds’nests, Coca Cola cans are knitted into baby clothes. Using a remarkably diverse array of materials and techniques, Hall questions humanity’s increasingly problematic relationship with the environment while at the same time celebrating the sensual and physical world.
