Kiwis Headed For 2-0 Defeat!

* New Zealand had its chance - and blew it, according to punters with leading Australasian bookmaker Centrebet!

Centrebet's media chief Neil Evans said nearly $10,000.00 in straight-out money had arrived already for Australia to beat the Kiwis in the second Test in Adelaide, starting Friday!

"Punters everywhere seem to think there's no sting in the NZ tail - they had their chance several times to steal the result at the GABBA, and blew it! Evans said. "The Kiwis have already drifted from $12.00 out to $12.50 - and even the $4.00 Draw - which is always a chance on a very true Adelaide pitch - is unwanted. They were happy to dive into $1.38 about Australia, and by the time the carnage stops, Ricky Ponting's team could well be shorter than $1.30!"

"It's hard to think Australia will bat so poorly as a team in consecutive Tests. And Brisbane proved New Zealand will always struggle to be competitive over five days, regardless of how the opposition is fairing!"

* Meanwhile, former winner Peter Lonard is the biggest mover on Centrebet ahead of the Australian Masters, starting Thursday morning!

Evans said Lonard opened $21.00, but had tumbled into $13.00 after several thousand was wagered today. Big bets had also been made on Qld's John Senden who's shortened from $34.00 into $23.00, while WA left-hander Greg Chalmers had been backed from $31.00 down to $26.00!

* And Roger Federer ($2.85) and Serena Williams ($4.00) are the early Centrebet favourites for the Australian open singles titles at Melbourne Park in January! Australian number one Lleyton Hewitt is a long $101.00.
