Shave An Artist
Shave An Artist

Tuesday 3rd February 2009, Artists
from all over Aotearoa will shave their heads to raise money
and help support the 6 New Zealand children and adults who
are diagnosed with blood cancers like leukaemia and lymphoma
every day. The Leukaemia & Blood Foundation provides
essential support for those patients and their families -
support that can last months, even years.
Top New Zealand
Artists have donated 13 artworks, which will be auctioned
off at this one-of-a-kind charity event. The audience will
watch while 13 artists and friends have their heads shaved
alongside their artworks being auctioned.
North Shore
City Mayor Andrew Williams will open this shave/auction
evening. The event will also launch a month long exhibition
at the Bruce Mason Centre consisting of artworks depicting
"LIFE" in all its facets by 41 talented artists from around
Aotearoa.
100% of the proceeds from the art auction and head shaves will be donated to the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation. 20% of all artwork sales from the month long exhibition will be donated also.
