Vector Arena transformed into Auckland’s largest dining room for Halberg Awards
Vector Arena is tonight holding the biggest event of the year’s national sporting calendar – but this time it’s not netball, motorsport or wrestling.
The arena will be transformed into Auckland’s largest exclusive dining room for more than 1000 people attending the prestigious Halberg Awards.
It is the first time the awards have been held at Vector Arena, and Chief Executive Guy Ngata is delighted.
“We’re very proud that the country’s top sportspeople are coming together under our roof to be honoured for their amazing achievements,” he says.
“I would personally like to congratulate all the finalists, who are sporting heroes for all New Zealanders.”
Vector Arena is increasingly being used for large, banquet-style events, and experienced caterers Delaware North are on-site.
So what will the country’s top athletes and their guests are eating on the night?
They can choose from a menu that includes, for example:
• Chicken breast and shallot and basil cream with roast garlic pepper mash and lime peanut vinaigrette, or;
• Salmon fillet and ebly wheat salad with coriander pesto and cucumber, bok choi and krachai butter sauce
