Suzuki & Yamaha Share Manufacturer’s Race

With the success of Australian Robbie Bugden on his GSXR1000R, Suzuki leads the Superbike Manufacturer’s race at the half way point in the Castrol Power1 New Zealand Superbike Championships.

Yamaha are hot on their heals just ten points adrift, with Honda third another five points back.

Points: Suzuki 118; Yamaha 108; Honda 103; Kawasaki 89.

In the 600 Sports Production class the positions are reversed.
Another Australian Garth Jones has put his Yamaha R6 on top of the Manufacturer’s points table, with Suzuki trailing by only six points and Kawasaki in third.

Points: Yamaha 120; Suzuki 114; Kawasaki 102; Honda 67.

The Championship now moves to the North Island for the final two rounds.
With four or five riders, representing all four brands, contesting very finish in the Championship so far, the race for the manufacturer’s title is far from decided.


The remaining rounds of the Castrol Power 1 Superbike Championships are:

Round Four: Manfeild, Feilding February 14 – 15

Round Five: Pukekohe, Auckland March 7 – 8 (includes NZ TTs)
