New Free Technology Offers Perfect Gift This Valentines

Kiwi blokes are getting a helping hand this Valentine’s Day thanks to The Secret, a unique tech-savvy web experience which allows guys to send a romantic personalised 3D message to their sweethearts; and the best bit is - it’s completely free! - http://valentines.thewarehouse.co.nz.

The sentimental surprise is sure to earn boyfriends, husbands and admirers brownie points without putting in the hard yards or spending a fortune.

From today, guys can simply log onto http://www.getinonthesecret.co.nz enter their details and a personal message for their sweetheart and they will receive an email containing a unique link to hold on to.

Come Valentine’s Day, all they have to do is find the heart-shaped ad in The Weekend Herald and cut it out. They then grab their girl, click on the unique link in their email which will take them to their personalise page, hold the ad in front of a webcam and their personalised message will come to life, bursting onto the screen.

A new initiative from The Warehouse, The Secret has been created especially for Valentine’s Day to make it easy for guys to give their special someone a thoughtful and personalised gift.

Richard Harrison, Head of Multi-Channel for The Warehouse says, “This is a great opportunity to be creative and utilise the latest technology to make your lady’s day a little bit special with this unique experience.”

The website combines AR (Augmented Reality), Papervision 3D and Flash technologies. Via the webcam, the Flash reads the AR Code on the Herald ad and overlays a 3D animation which includes the personalised message entered by the user.

Utilising the technology with a personalised element for the first time in New Zealand, The Secret is sure to be a big hit with gadget lovers and sweethearts alike.
