Saint Clair Adds More Skills and Accolades

Family winemaking team, Saint Clair Family Estate, has gone on to demonstrate its excellence and expertise with Sarina Ibbotson, daughter of owners Neal and Judy, achieving her Masters in Wine Business Degree from the University of Adelaide (formally known as Roseworthy College).

Sarina’s accomplishment reaffirms Saint Clair’s reputation as one of New Zealand’s most prestigious and successful wineries, with Sarina being the first New Zealander to achieve this impressive honour.

The comprehensive Degree involved intensive practical and theoretical study, including grape growing, winemaking, winery business management, global wine marketing and winery operations. For certain blocks of the course Sarina was required to travel over to Adelaide University’s Roseworthy Campus, which is internationally recognised as a premier teaching facility for wine education and the pioneering role it plays in the wine industry.

Sarina’s newly acquired knowledge will undoubtedly be invaluable to Saint Clair Family Estate, which is passionate about creating world-class wines that continue to exceed expectations.

Studying while juggling a young family, Sarina’s accomplishment also emphasises the strong family ties that bind the family owned and operated winery and make its story unique. Now working for Saint Clair in the area of marketing, Sarina feels the Degree helped her obtain “a greater understanding of
the various aspects of wine business especially wine marketing.”
