Rain won’t deter the boaties!

Auckland International Boat Show 2009

The Auckland International Boat Show has opened for business as usual today despite some initial bad weather on day one. Boat Show organizers are encouraged at the number of people who have still made the effort to get down to Halsey Street to see what’s on offer.

“Even though we’ve seen some initial bad weather numbers are still closely in line with previous years and we’re delighted with the patronage. The rain won’t deter the boaties,” says Auckland International Boat Show’s Executive Director Peter Busfield.

This year the show has seen 210 total boating exhibitors, which spreads across 7 total pavilions and the huge purpose built Boat Show marina and floating bridge. At the show you can check out the latest offerings from the New Zealand and international marine industries; From trailer power boats to Superyachts, navigation equipment to jet powered kayaks, there’s a wide range of attractions at this year’s show.

The Auckland International Boat Show is sponsored by Boating New Zealand, Auckland City Council and organised by the Marine Industry Association of New Zealand. It coincides with the Auckland Festival and Auckland Cup Week, in the Three Event Weekend organized by Tourism Auckland.

The Boat Show goes from March 5th-8th from 10am-6pm daily and is held at the Viaduct Marine Harbour Village.
