April Fools Day Urban Myth Bash

April Fools Day Urban Myth Bash

In association with the exhibition Terry Urbahn Selected Works 1994-2008 we invite you to an April Fools Day screening (Weds April 1) of Urban Myth Mash.

A collection of short video works made by Terry Urbahn from 1995-2005, Urban Myth Mash features the artist as punk rocker, stalker and criminal. It includes material from The Karaokes (1998); a video featuring New Plymouth punk group Sticky Filth (1995); and in P.S. .. I love you (2001) Urbahn secretly films the director of the City Gallery Paula Savage as she visits a friend and goes for a walk.

Urban Myth Mash screens as part of Terry Urbahn - Selected Works 1994 - 2008 which runs until May 9. Playing daily in the cinema is Urbahn’s 2008 video installation The Sacred Hart.

Writing in the blog eyecontact about The Sacred Hart Tao Wells said "I ... was struck by its lifting the lid on whiteness, white culture, white power, white spirit, truly a herculean task and achieved with space to reflect..."
