Financial Literacy focus: Local Author goes Global

Strong Focus on Basic Financial Literacy sees Local Author go Global

Phil Strong is returning to NZ briefly to deliver more of his outstanding seminars on Financial Literacy in April. A former Wellington lad/Waikato man, Strong is walking proof that with some good basic understanding of budgeting and what not to do, it's possible to get serious, start saving and make your money (whatever your income is) go a lot further.

His book, Becoming Money Wise, was launched in December 2008 and has been selling well in both New Zealand and Australia, and led to him relocating his whole family to the USA earlier this year. Long standing engagements will see him tour 5 towns in this country before returning again to Boise Idaho, where his career as a financial coach is taking him to extraordinary new heights.

Strong's message is remarkably simple and maybe that's why his formula works so well for so many. Pay yourself first, give something away, work out all the fixed costs, and then pay yourself your pocket money in CASH. Strong became financially independent himself by the age of 30, and started to devote much of his spare time to helping others to achieve the same level of understanding about money basics. Over the past 5 years he has created quite a following of people who have attended more than 100 seminars in New Zealand and overseas since 2005, when he first created his WiseMoney Foundation.

After several months seeing first hand how everyday people are weathering the financial crisis in the USA, he is keen to share more of his experiences and tips for survival with those of us back home, and will share some perspectives on how well we are placed to cope with economic stress in the homes of NZ. Strong is aged 37, and believes that helping young people to get smart with money is especially critical at this time and hopes that his ability to connect well with under 40 year olds will be particularly beneficial for young families and students attending his seminars.

Phil Strong will be touring NZ, and speaking in Hawkes Bay, Gisborne, Hamilton and Whangarei from 18th - 27th April.
