Popular New Zealand band Midnight Youth is supporting the charity Medicine Mondiale and auctioning themselves for a private gig.
The auction will be held as part of the gala black tie event A Private Evening with Neil Finn at the Auckland Museum on June 24. Neil is an Ambassador for Medicine Mondiale and has gifted the evening to raise funds. The MC will be Oscar Kightley.
“To have Midnight Youth as part of the auction is perfect and we know that it will be competitive and sought after,” said CEO and Founder of Medicine Mondiale Ray Avery.
Midnight Youth will perform an energised live showcase of five songs at a venue of the winning bidder’s choice. All infrastructure including sound etc supplied by the purchaser.
“Imagine putting on a Midnight Youth gig for your next work do, or having the boys rock your or your families birthday party!”, continued Ray Avery.
Another high-value and extraordinary item in The Opportunity of a Lifetime Charity Auction is a one –off signed Weta Workshop collectible from Richard Taylor and Greg Broadmore.
Midnight Youth has hit the ground running with the phenomenal success of its first single The Letter, from its debut album The Brave Don’t Run. When released it was the most played New Zealand song on radio, holding a Top 10 position for more than 15 weeks on the Radioscope Top 100.
The Warner Music signed band formed in 2006. It has toured in North America with appearances at the acclaimed SXSW music festival in Austin (Texas), New York as well as the famed Los Angeles venue The Viper Room. In New Zealand it played support for INXS, and has had shows with OpShop, The Veronicas, Incubus, Ok Go and Metro Station.
The Midnight Youth concert is donated to Medicine Mondiale as an auction item through the international Art For Love project, a supporter of Medicine Mondiale. Art for Love is the brainchild of New Zealander Chao Xian Yang whereby prominent and influential contemporary Chinese artists and artists in all mediums – including music – donate their time, energy and creativity to raise money for charity.
A
unique charity, Medicine Mondiale is science based and
dedicated to creating technology and products that make
quality healthcare accessible to the poorest of the
poor.
