On Now: Cuban Poster Exhibition
Thistle Hall is a vibrant community centre in the heart of New Zealand's cultural capital. We provide a community hall, meeting room and Wellington's only community gallery showcasing a range of artists and crafts people, from the established to the emerging. Thistle Hall is located on the corner of Cuba and Arthur streets. The shows on at Thistle Hall Community Gallery are run by the artists who hire it.

20 - 25 JULY 2009
CUBAN POSTER EXHIBITION
Opening 7.00pm Monday 20
July.
Open daily 10.00am - 4.00pm.
In 2009 CUBA celebrates 50 years of the Revolution which brought socialism, free healthcare, free education, food and shelter to the Cuban people.
Despite suffering under the cruel and destructive effects of the blockade imposed on them by the United States for the last 50 years, their achievements, particularly in healthcare and education, have been remarkable and their arts and culture have remained strong and vibrant. Cuba has also consistently supported the struggles of other nations.
The Wellington Cuba Friendship Society invites you to a poster exhibition to Celebrate and acknowledge the past 50 years of art and protest in Cuba.
