Roary To Star At Speedshow On First Visit to NZ
Kiwi kids will be revving their engines as children’s sensation Roary the Racing Car zooms into New Zealand for the first time, starring at NZ’s biggest automotive event Speedshow on the 19th and 20th September at the ASB showgrounds, Auckland.
Speedshow’s new children’s area Speedshow 4 Kids, will feature the Roary Pit Zone, a child’s wonderland, complete with games, Roary car races, competitions, cool prizes, a photo zone with Roary and his karaoke singing mechanic Big Chris, and many more thrill-seeking activities to keep the little ones occupied. There will also be interactive Roary concerts on both days of the show to get the children singing and dancing along with their favourite red racing car.
“We’re delighted to welcome Roary the Racing Car to Speedshow 4 Kids in his first official New Zealand appearance. Roary and his mechanic Big Chris are the stars of the hugely popular animated kids show narrated by racing legend Sir Stirling Moss. Their visit to Speedshow will be a huge draw-card for smaller children and their parents,” says Speedshow organiser Keith Sharp.
Roary the Racing Car is a turbo charged BAFTA nominated pre-school series combining cuttingedge CGI with stop-frame animation. Originated by Dave Jenkins, and designed and developed by the creator of Bob the Builder and Fifi and the Flowertots, Keith Chapman, Roary the Racing Car is taking off around the world, entertaining kids with all the thrills, spills and excitement of car racing.
Roary the Racing Car is having great success in New Zealand. The television series screens on TV2 at 6.50am each Saturday, with a dedicated audience watching every week. Roary’s fun range of new merchandise has recently launched nationally and is available at all good retailers. Roary’s new Aus/NZ website features new games, TV clips, fan club entry and information on events and products.
