A ‘Stella Ball’ For Skylight
A ‘Stella Ball’ For Skylight
Skylight, a charitable organisation that provides support to children, young people and their families/ whānau through trauma, change, loss and grief, is to benefit from a glamorous first ever ‘Stella Ball’ on Saturday 15 August.
A wonderful night of dining, dancing and great music, themed in ritzy New York style, the iconic Peter Urlich is playing in Wellington for the first time in three years. A perfect way to beat the mid winter blues, those attending can spend time in Central Park, take in the Statue of Liberty, enjoy the wonderful tunes of The Peter Urlich Sextet, all while supporting Skylight, a Wellington-based charity.
Matt McLaughlin, Four Kings partner says, "It's been a dream of mine to host a formal charity ball and a huge pleasure to be able to support Skylight. They provide amazing programmes for all people who are having a rough go of things.”
"With the support of local businesses, sponsored by Stella Artois and thanks to the NZ Community Trust, we hope that the Stella Ball will raise significant funds for Skylight through proceeds from ticket sales and auction."
Skylight's Chief Executive and Mental Heath Commissioner, Bice Awan, is grateful to the Four Kings for holding this event and says funds raised will go to support Skylight's programmes for children, young people and their families in need - those facing really hard times.
"Skylight tries to provide some light through the darkest of times - a beacon of hope," says Bice Awan. "We work hard to help families and whānau to be as strong as they can be and that allow young children and teens to thrive and grow resilient, even when times are really tough.”
"It has been amazing to see how keen and generous people are in supporting the Stella Ball for Skylight, including The Radio Network, Lion Nathan and Classique Beauty and Bridal," says Matt.
Items for auction include tickets to the Red Bull corporate box (Auckland vs Wellington game), hosted by Christian Cullen, two Phoenix FC Season Tickets, a night for two at the luxurious Wellesley Hotel, Les Mills club memberships and a weekend stay for two at the fantastic White Swan in Greytown. The auctioneer will be Daniel McHardy.
Tickets are available by calling Matt on 04 384 1910, or email to matt@stellaball.co.nz . Price $120 with $20 from each ticket going to Skylight.
It's up to you, New York, New York!
