Beyonce Vs Lady Gaga: Battle Of Thge VMAs

MTV’s SEPTEMBER 2009 PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2009, BROOKE KNOWS BEST 2, FANTASY FACTORY AND TEEN CRIBS

AUCKLAND, FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST 2009 – It’s the biggest night in MTV’s calendar, and every year it fails not to live it up to it’s acclaimed reputation as the awards ceremony of the year. The MTV Video Music Awards 2009, direct from New York City, premieres September 14th at 7.30pm only on MTV New Zealand!

Hosted by controversial British comedian Russell Brand, MTV takes over New York – a city which can closely match the VMA’s for it’s rowdiness, as this year’s head-to-head sees Beyonce and Lady Gaga each leading the 2009 field with 9 nominations each, while Britney Spears comes a close second with 7 awards, further evidence of her incredible comeback.

With performance from Green Day, Pink, Muse, Taylor Swift making her VMA performance debut alongside celebrity presenters including Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and “Gossip Girl” actor Chace Crawford, MTV New Zealand brings you the glitz, the glamour and everything in-between to the comfort of your own armchair!

Having left home, turning 19 and coping with not only the fall out from her mum and dad’s marital problems but her brother’s recent legal troubles, Brooke Hogan’s quest to reach musical superstardom would have been the last thing on her mind. However, Brooke Knows Best (Season 2), as she not only finds time to have some fun with her roommates Glenn and Ashley at their “blinging” Miami pad, but also becomes the rock of the Hogan dynasty.

Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory is Rob’s attempt to turn an industrial warehouse into the one-stop for all his entertainment needs; be it flying foxes, a indoor skate park, trampolines or another giant skateboard, Rob is hoping to have everything he needs (or desires) housed under one roof. With his bodyguard Chris “Big Black” Boykin by his side, guests such as Johnny Knoxville, Pharrell and fellow skater Ryan Sheckler all stop by to survey the fantasy.

Not content making us jealous of the homes that celebrities live in, MTV have gone one step further to make un envious. MTV Teen Cribs focuses on the younger generation and their pimped out surroundings; indoor tree houses, private nightclubs, computerized libraries, full court gymnasiums, golf courses, “tricked out” movie theatres and even secret rooms. No need to book in advance to look around – just tune in sit back and take some notes for what to do when you win the lottery.

Volume over talent – perhaps that’s the thought some people might have, but MTV’s OK! Karaoke is definitely a great deal of fun to have on a Saturday evening. While your friends are getting ready in your bedroom or bathroom and you’re looking to kill time, be entertained by the latest music and sing along with MTV’s exclusive new program!
