Coming Soon... a new Survival Guide
Coming Soon... a new Survival Guide
1 October 2009
The final touches are being made to the latest edition to Downtown Community Ministry’s Survival Guide – living in Wellington on a low income.
The new edition is packed with essential information about housing, benefit advice, food banks and health services.
The guide is popular amongst agencies and organisations in Wellington who assist people get by on limited means. It’s also a great resource for people new to the city.
One entry just added is the Newtown People’s Market. It looks like just the thing for people looking for a bargain.
Held on the last Saturday of every month from 12 to 3pm in St Anne’s Church Hall the market is a buy, sell, swap and community meetup for people with things to sell, issues to talk about and friends to make.
Secondhand clothes,
food, crafts and music are popular at the market. Last
Saturday a good crowd turned out to enjoy the sunny weather
and friendly
atmosphere.
