Sallies’ Christmas CD Goes ‘Double Miraculous Platinum’ Again!
The
Salvation Army’s Christmas CD has gone ‘double
miraculous platinum” for the second year in a
row!
More than 31,000 copies of “It’s a Wrap
2” were sold across the nation exclusively at Countdown,
Foodtown and Woolworths stores. The CDs sold for just $5,
and the effort has raised over $139,000 (after GST).
“We are keen to help the Sallies whenever we can. And helping them raise much needed funds while at the same time giving our customers a great deal was a true win-win situation,” says Dave Chambers, GM Supermarket Operations.
Salvation Army Territorial Public Relations Secretary Major Robert Ross adds: “Demands on our services have been way up – about 40% ahead of last year, so we were thrilled that Progressive was willing to help us fundraise by selling this terrific Christmas CD.”
Fans wanting to buy extra copies of the unique CD – which features 15 Christmas tracks by the Sallies' own musicians, plus brilliant vocalist Bella Kalolo, barbershop quartet Musical Island Boys and jazz group Otis – should ring the Sallies on 04 382 0744.
