David Boyle takes us on an escapist, fantastical, exotic journey to a place with recurring visions of adventure. “In essence, I still see Africa as the last Bastion of romance, adventure and mystery. This continent still has immense charm and refuses to be tamed. Pirates at one end holding Superpowers to ransom, diamond wars at the other” – David Boyle
Rumble in the Jungle boasts canvases thickly layered with paint and stories, creating something surrealist, evocative and visually playful. Throughout art and literature the exotic has always been a metaphor for not only the unknown but also a place for the most daring and deepest fantasies of the mind to exist.
Alongside David’s paintings there are his signature Bolted Books, Sculptural Pourings and his latest X-RAY Lamps. This combination of artworks creates an immersive environment which is sure to bring nostalgia of childhood adventure books.
