Otago Careers Festival Calling for Events
Otago Careers Festival Calling for Events
Building on its success in 2009, the Otago Careers Festival will be held again throughout May 2010. This exciting event was established last year to showcase a variety of careers and opportunities throughout Otago, and many people in the region attended a wide range of career-related events.
The Otago Careers Festival has something for everyone, from school-leavers to those seeking to re-enter the workforce or make a career change. The Festival has benefits for all groups looking for work – employers can meet with prospective employees, migrants can find opportunities, parents and caregivers can find information about careers for their children, and training institutions can publicise their courses. Local employment is encouraged which can only benefit everyone in our community.
The Festival will again have the following regional focus: May 3-9 Clutha and Dunedin; May 10-16 Dunedin; May 17-23 Central Otago, Queenstown and Waitaki. The Festival has received funding from the Otago Community Trust and the National Mayors Taskforce for Jobs.
Although the Festival already has many events scheduled, such as the Coca-Cola Careers Expo, organisers are keen to hear from any business, organisation or group who wish to hold an event to promote career opportunities or to increase their public profile. The sky is the limit – the only criteria for events is that they are free for the public to attend.
