'Go Otago' All Set to Celebrate Otago Anniversary
Day
The Otago-Taieri A & P Showgrounds will be a
hive of activity on Sunday, March 21, as the region gets set
to celebrate Otago Anniversary Day at 'Go Otago'. A biennial
event, in 2008 over 5000 people attended the day which is
packed full of entertainment, activities and exhibits. 'Go
Otago' 2010 aims to showcase the best of what the region has
to offer, including food, art and craft, tourism, business,
entertainment and sport. It is a great day out for families,
with events and activities for all ages.
The popular 'Big Dig' is set to be held at 3pm on the day and will delight children, who can dig up tags redeemable for prizes in the 30m of sawdust. Over 400 fantastic prizes have been donated by local businesses for this event.
Over 50 stallholders will participate in the event, including lots of great food stalls like Guilty by Confection, Prenzel and The Ice Cream Man, as well as many others showcasing their wares, such as Willems Toy Empire and Merino Wraps and Dresses.
