New Zealanders Invited to Life Ball in Vienna, the world’s largest AIDS fundraising event.
Vienna’s Life Ball is Europe's largest and most spectacular annual charity event dedicated to raising support for the worldwide fight against HIV and AIDS. Celebrating the beauty of life and the diversity of world cultures, Life Ball reinvents the great Viennese Ball tradition with glamorous, outlandish performances and inspirational speeches. In 2009 the event raised 1.496.000 Euros.
In 2010 Life Ball will held on the 17th of July, just before that start of the International Aids Conference. Every year the event attracts major celebrities and performers from around the world, to date these have included: Bill Clinton, Elton John, Sharon Stone, Liza Minelli, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Grace Jones, Cyndie Lauper and many more.
New Zealanders are
being encouraged to attend and the Life Ball Foundation has
appointed Asia-Pacific based travel company Hautes Vacances
as their official representative for New Zealand and the
Asia- Pacific Region.
Managing Director of Hautes
Vacances, Victor Hoeld: “We are delighted to be able to
introduce New Zealanders to an amazing once-in-a-life-time
experience and one which makes such a meaningful impact in
the fight against AIDS”.
The 2010 entertainment
and speaker line-up is due to be announced in 2 weeks time
and those interested in attending are being encouraged to
book before the event sells-out, as it does every year upon
this announcement.
To ensure New Zealanders are
represented at the event, Life Ball has given Hautes
Vacances a guaranteed ticket allocation. (For those in
Vienna wishing to attend, they need to enter a lottery
system to be able to purchase tickets).
Hautes Vacances is offering packages including 2 or 3 nights accommodation, some meals, transport, special events, city tours, and Life Ball tickets from NZD$1870 per person, and will also book airfares to Vienna for attendees.
