Local Radio Personality Becomes Fifth Wiggle
Auckland’s BIG 106.2 Breakfast host Lance ‘Ukulele Wiggle’ Dunne is set to make history this weekend. After having Anthony ‘Blue Wiggle’ Field and Jeff ‘Purple Wiggle’ Fatt as guests on Brent and Lance for Breakfast this morning, Lance has been invited to join the Wiggles live.
Lance will don the appropriate costume and take to the Vector Arena stage for tomorrow afternoon’s Wiggles show with his trusty ukulele, which he can be heard playing most mornings on BIG 106.2’s Brent and Lance for Breakfast. “I can’t believe they’d let me loose on stage with them,” he muses.
“They must’ve felt really comfortable with us when they came into the studio this morning.” “Bring your ukulele and you’re on!” Artistic Director and Blue Wiggle Anthony Field told Lance in this morning’s interview. The on-air quip snowballed to a formal invitation from the Wiggles’s Tour Manager, with a rehearsal schedule organised and a last minute search for an electric ukulele.
The other half of Brent and Lance for Breakfast and BIG 106.2 Programme Director Brent Harbour offered his services for security, but says, “Lance is obviously built for children’s entertainment, because he can relate to them on their own level. Plus he looks great in a skivvy.”
