PPNZ – proud supporters of new digital music channel
C42
Phonographic Performances New Zealand
(PPNZ) is proud to support the launch of TVWorks’ new
alternative digital music channel C42, which launches on May
1.
Managing Director Kristin Bowman says PPNZ worked closely with Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ), as well as its other members and TVWorks to assist to make the channel a reality.
“The deal means we’ll see a great new start up channel with up to 30 per cent local content that’s going to provide a valuable outlet for independent musicians”.
“The arrangement between PPNZ and TVWorks reflects the niche character of the new channel and is one aspect of a wider agreement on licensing for TV3, TV3+1, C4 and websites for all the stations.”
Bowman says the specific details of the deal are
confidential and commercially sensitive matters. However,
the agreement will see bands and record labels provided with
advertising on the channel among other things..
C42 goes
LIVE to air exclusively on Freeview Channel 9 (6am) on May
1st, 2010.
C42 joins the Freeview platform as the second exclusive channel for MediaWorks, after the launch of TV3 plus 1 in March 2009.
