Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Star?
Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Star?
We are looking for Waitakere’s next musical star.
May is NZ Music Month 2010 and to celebrate we want you
to enter an original song or melody in the Waitakere Library
and Information Services’ new Launch Your Lyrics
competition.
From hip hop to opera, the
choice of song style is up to you.
The winner will receive a recording session at the Global Café studio in Henderson with a professional audio engineer as well as other extra goodies.
There are also heaps of other great prizes to be won.
Seven semi-finalists will be selected (one from each library branch) to attend the grand prizegiving on June 2 at Waitakere Central Library in Henderson, which will include a performance by Kiwi singer/songwriter Anika Moa.
You can choose to submit either a CD recording or just the lyrics, but all entries must be received by 3pm on May 24.
Groups or individuals can enter and participants must be aged between 11 and 18 years of age and have a Waitakere Library and Information Services Library card.
For competition terms and conditions and how to enter go to www.waitakerelibs.govt.nz.
On the same site you can also find out how to become a library member. Just go to the “Join the Library” page for more information.
