Parachute Music hosts discussion night for NZ Music Month

Auckland, 5 May 2010 – In honour of NZ Music Month, Parachute Music will host a forum titled ‘Noise: Online Music & Promotion’ on May 25.

The event will feature a panel discussion with industry experts sharing their trade secrets with local musicians.

Speakers include: Universal Music Promotions Manager Jane Yee, pop-artist Dane Rumble, Let The People Speak Founder Matt Coleman (Midnight Youth and Dane Rumble management), Universal Music A&R Manager Scott Maclachlan, Amplifier.co.nz and DRM Manager Stephen O’Hoy, and MySpace NZ Marketing & PR Manager Julie Warmington.

These high calibre contributors will discuss how artists can build a strong brand and create buzz on the internet, and also how they can effectively facilitate digital distribution.

The Auckland event will be held on May 25 at The Loft (above The Kingslander); featuring a panel discussion, Q&A time, plus plenty of opportunity for artists to meet and greet.

This is one of Parachute Music’s key initiatives for NZ Music Month.

The organisation will also be giving out NZ Music Month prize packs across their social networks, posting a range of videos and interviews with local artists on parachutemusic.com, and hosting weekly takeovers of the Life FM Friday Breakfast show.
