This Thursday, Parnell galleries will once more serve up their tempting smorgasbord of New Zealand art until 7.30pm. With live music and artists talks, complimentary wine and exquisite canapés, this spells the perfect entrée to a memorable evening at one of Parnell’s great restaurants.

Take your time perusing Parnell’s contemporary, traditional and cutting edge array of fine art. This sociable event centres on the cluster of galleries located in the middle of Parnell Road: Pierre Peeters Gallery, ARTIS Gallery, essenze, Mana Gallery, International Gallery, Jonathan Grant Galleries, Pankhurst Studio Gallery, Parnell Gallery and Sanderson Contemporary Art, with Bath Street and Warwick Henderson Galleries also taking part and all open late for your viewing pleasure. This month’s tasty treats include:


World of Wonder
Alison Coulthurst
The well-known Australian artist will be at Parnell Gallery to introduce her latest exhibition. Coulthurst has exhibited in New Zealand for many years. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, she has a strong affinity to the raw natural beauty of Africa and its people, and her artwork still unconsciously reflects strong influences from her homeland.

George Baloghy – Picasso in Auckland
May 5–29, 2010
Artis Gallery present Baloghy’s homage to one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, placing figures from Picasso's paintings into distinctive Auckland landscapes.

Pierre Peeters Gallery brings Boyd-Dunlop’s interpretation and vision to the classical four elements of fire, earth, air and water. Richard’s work over the last decade has often been a commentary on the relationship between man and his environment, with a particular focus on conservationist issues.
