New Zealand Writers Last Chance To Enter Mind, Body, Spirit Award
New Zealand writers have until Monday 31 May to enter their published work into the 2010 Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust Book Awards.
The Award recognises published writing talent in the mind, body and spirit genre with one of the largest prizes awarded for literature in New Zealand.
The Ashton Wyle Charitable Trust, in association with the New Zealand Society of Authors (NZSA), will present a single award of $10,000 to the winner whose work demonstrates excellence and understanding of the mind, body, spirit category.
Adonia Wylie, spokesperson for the Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust and member of the judging panel, is encouraging all local writers with a passion for the mind, body, spirit genre to enter their work.
“The Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust Book Awards is a great opportunity for authors to showcase their writing and gain national recognition for their work,” says Ms Wylie.
“We are encouraging all published local writers whose work encompasses the mind, body, spirit theme to enter.”
To be eligible, books must be 48 pages or longer, and have been published between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010.
In addition to the book award category, the Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust and New Zealand Society of Authors are also presenting an award for unpublished manuscripts. Entries closed for this award on 31 March 2010.
Both awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Ashton Wylie Charitable Trust’s own venue, Hopetoun Alpha in Auckland during August.
