On Thursday, 10 June, Parnell
galleries will once more serve up a tempting smorgasbord of
New Zealand art through to 7.30pm. With live music and
complimentary wine and exquisite canapés, this spells the
perfect entrée to a memorable evening at one of Parnell’s
great restaurants.
Take your time perusing
Parnell’s contemporary, traditional and cutting edge array
of fine art. This sociable event centres on the cluster of
galleries located in the middle of Parnell Road: Pierre
Peeters Gallery, ARTIS Gallery, essenze, Mana Gallery,
Jonathan Grant Galleries, Pankhurst Studio Gallery, Parnell
Gallery and Sanderson Contemporary Art, with Bath Street and
Warwick Henderson Galleries also taking part and all open
late for your viewing pleasure.
This month, watch your step as Sanderson Contemporary Art darkens the gallery to showcase this wonderful body of light and architectural sculpture by Gina Jones with her new exhibition, “Black Out.”
“The experience of space and colour unfolds over
time. The aim being to elevate consciousness within the
viewer and open up a zone of contemplation – this
consciousness creates an awareness of ‘being in time’ in
response to the experience of the work.”
