2 Massive Eru Dangerspiel Release Concerts

Announcing 2 Massive Eru Dangerspiel Concerts to Celebrate Their Live 5.1 DVD & CD Release

IN STORE & TICKETS ON SALE - MONDAY 26 JULY

To celebrate the release of Eru Dangerspiel’s 5.1 DVD & CD Great News For The Modern Man: Live At the Auckland Town Hall, Tuborg in association with LOOP and Juice TV are presenting two epic Eru Dangerspiel concerts this October.

"Bringing together a vibrant mixture of local musicians, more than just a celebration of band leader Riki Gooch’s idiosyncratic compositions - the Eru Dangerpspiel concert was a celebration of New Zealand's musical community and its intimate connection with audiences across the country. Viva La Musica!" - Martyn Pepperell

Last year’s sold-out, critically acclaimed, mind-warping show left punters hankering for more and elicited ecstatic responses from many who cited it as the show of the year. The band featured on the DVD from that show includes soul legend Whirimako Black, multi-instrumentalist/composer Jonathan Crayford, Laughton and Fran Kora, Anna Coddington, Mara TK (Electric Wire Hustle), Parks (Ladi6), Chip Matthews, Julien Dyne and Isaac Aesili (all Opensouls), Joe Lindsay, Scott Towers and Toby Laing (all Fat Freddy’s Drop), Mike Fabulous (The Black Seeds), Will Ricketts (The Phoenix Foundation), Ross Burge (The Mutton Birds), Ned Ngatae (Dimmer), Submariner (Che Fu, The Turnaround), Lewis McCallum, Olga Gryniewicz, Nathan Haines and The Dangerspiel Community Municipal City Choir.

The next ensemble of 30 musicians promises to be just as spectacular with rumours circulating about even more of New Zealand’s most magnanimous musical specimens, surfacing especially for the October tour!

Eru Dangerspiel will perform their distinguished style of dirty, bottom heavy funk and psychedelic rhythm and blues at the Auckland Town Hall on Friday 8 October and the Wellington Town Hall on Saturday 9 October.

Led by TrinityRoots drummer, multi-instrumentalist/producer, Riki Gooch, Eru Dangerspiel are a hypnotic group that journeys into the depths of harder-edged funk, delves into free jazz and explores futuristic soul to offer up unique live jams awash with equally mesmerising visual imagery.

With both shows are limited in capacity. Tickets are $47.50 +bf - see Loop.co.nz for more details and direct ticket links

The CD / DVD, set for release Monday 26 July, was recorded live on August 8 2009 at the sold-out Auckland Town Hall show. It captures Eru Dangerspiel’s stonking performance beautifully in Dolby Digital 5.1, thanks to Roundhead Studios.

As an extra special audio treat, Red Bull have teamed up with Eru to release a limited edition 7” of “Chilli Moules”, which was mixed at the Red Bull Studios and can be purchased at both shows and from Conch and Real Groovy from late July.

The 7” tracks were written entirely by Riki Gooch and co-produced by his good friend Sean Deans - the founding member of the iconic D&B crew, Bass Frontiers. See www.redbullstudio.co.nz for more info.
