Cellist Moky Gibson-Lane plays full-time with the Berlin Staatskapelle directed by Daniel Barenboim.
She was invited by Daniel Stabrawa (Concert-Master, Berlin Philharmonic) to be cellist for his Quintet - The Stabrawa Ensemble. Important concerts have included venues such as Berlin Philharmonie with guest artist Sir Simon Rattle (piano), and at the music festival in Kracow to great critical acclaim.
Recently with the award-winning cellist Stefan Heynemeyer, Moky recorded music for the new film 'The Last Word" starring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green. The premier is later this year. Moky makes regular guest appearances on the T.V. show "Arte Lounge" for the Arte Channel where she has recorded chamber music with atists such as Vadim Repin and Christian Lindberg. Other chamber music highlights include the Berlin Premier of Elliot Carter's Mosaic with Barenboim. In 2004, Moky completed a Master of Music degree at Rice University, Houston, Texas, under Lynn Harrell and then moved to Berlin.
Catherine McKay is a well known New Zealand pianist based in Wellington.
