Last chance to catch all City Gallery Wellington exhibitions

Only two weeks remain of current City Gallery Wellington exhibitions

Time is running out for visitors to experience City Gallery Wellington’s current suite of exhibitions. Visitors are encouraged to make tracks to City Gallery to see the two main gallery exhibitions John Pule: Hauaga (Arrivals) and Ready to Roll before they close on Sunday 12 September.

John Pule: Hauaga (Arrivals) is a unique experience; it is the artist’s first solo show in a major public art gallery and a fascinating collection of Pule’s large-scale paintings as well as his delicate works on paper. Ready to Roll is a lively show of contemporary sculpture, painting, photography, video work and installation by eight artists from around New Zealand. Both of these exhibitions have delighted audiences over the course of their three month winter seasons.

It’s also the last opportunity to see Slowburner: Lisa Munnelly in the Hirschfeld Gallery and Cerisse Palalagi: Motunei in the Deane Gallery, both of which will also be closing on this date—even more reason to pay a visit to City Gallery Wellington before all of these exhibitions come to a close.

City Gallery will be closed for two weeks from 12 to 25 September for installation of the next exhibition, roundaboutš (25 September 2010 - 16 January 2011).

Of course, Nikau Caferemains open for business during the Gallery’s temporary closure, and SQUARE2, the Gallery’s 24-hour screening space for contemporary video art, will continue to show Alicia Frankovich’s work Lungeing Chambon until 19 September.
