Vines’ Search For The Ultimate Understudy
Keen for a career in the music and entertainment industry?
Rhythm & Vines, New Zealand’s biggest and best New Years Eve festival, is on the hunt for the ultimate understudy - the R&V Protege.
With entries rolling in at www.facebook.com/rhythm.vines?ref=ts and the deadline fast approaching, you’d better get moving if you want a chance at this killer opportunity.
R&V Protégé is the opportunity of a lifetime for one lucky candidate to work alongside R&V Program Director Hamish Pinkham and other members of the R&V team and learn the ins and outs of putting on a music festival.
The competition winner will get a three-month paid contract and the opportunity to meet the artists, hang backstage and rub shoulders with music and media personalities.
If all of that wasn’t enough, the winner will also receive $3000 in Amazon clothing, Panasonic equipment, and three-day R&V passes, onsite camping, VIP passes and backstage access for them and five friends.
And if you don’t make it to the very tippy-top, don’t despair. The Top 6 semi- finalists will get a trip to Auckland to meet the team and undertake an in-depth job interview, and of course receive a three-day R&V pass. While the top three finalists will get to attend and work on R&V 2010 with tickets, flights and accommodation all covered by us.
So what are we looking for in the R&V Protege?
According to R&V Program Director Hamish Pinkham, R&V is looking for one very talented individual who has what it takes to fulfill this role.
“We’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about music, the music industry and R&V.
“They must have excellent communication and presentation skills and some understanding of the media and of the entertainment industry.
“The successful candidate must be open to learning about all the various facets of a music festival, including event management, production, marketing, communications, finance and administration and more.
“And they must be hard working and proactive, and willing to chip in and do even the more mundane tasks with a smile.”
Entry to the R&V Protégé competition closes 30 September and involves making a video that tells us why you should be chosen as the R&V Protégé.
The Top 10 finalists will be interviewed via Skype and narrowed down to the Top 6. The Top 6 Semi-Finalists will then be flown to Auckland for one-on-one interviews with a few other surprises yet to be revealed.
