NZ Olive Festival on Breakfast TV
Once again Hawke’s Bay will feature on national TV on Friday the 17th September. Paul and Pippa will be discussing all things Olives, the NZ Olive Festival and the Hawke’s Bay.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to once again profile the wonderful region we live in and of course to talk about the first NZ Olive Festival to be held on at Sileni Estate on Saturday the 18th September”, Geoff Crawford owner of Telegraph Hill and NZ Olive Festival Committee member said. “We have been invited to appear on the “Friday Foodie Slot” at around 8.45am which is just perfect for the festival”
The NZ Olive Festival will this year be held at Sileni Estate in Hastings. This venue lends itself to an event like this, with added facilities like the permanent marquee that Orton Catering has constructed onsite. Jane Libby, Food Hawke’s Bay General Manager is excited about the organisation’s involvement in the festival, “collectively Hawke’s Bay is the best food and wine region in New Zealand, by frequently adding fantastic events to our calendar we continue to build on this reputation.
The Festival will include children’s activities, olive oil tastings and olive appreciation workshops, cooking demonstrations, Olive Grower stalls, food and entertainment. An important aspect will be the educational workshops on how to use olive oil in your everyday cooking, the industry want New Zealanders to feel confident about using their products. It will be family fun day out with activities designed to appeal to a wide audience.
