World Class showing by UK Rowing Team
World Class showing by UK Rowing Team .
The British High Commissioner to New Zealand Mrs Vicki Treadell has described Great Britain’s table topping feats at the World Rowing Championships as “Oarsome”.
“I visited the British team in training at Lake Karapiro earlier this month and I knew they would be world class. It’s a tribute to British rowing that they dominated the medal table and this bodes well for the London Olympics in 2012”
The UK men’s eight as well as the men's double scull added two further silvers on the final afternoon bringing the overall tally to five golds, five silver and one bronze medal.
Germany equalled the UK on golds but were second on silvers, New Zealand were third overall.
