Chris McLennan Launches International Photo Tour
Chris McLennan Launches International Photo Tours for 2011
After much demand, New Zealand based travel photographer Chris McLennan has released a schedule of International Photo Tour products for 2011 that includes trips to Papua New Guinea, Alaska, Fiji and New Zealand.
All are intrepid style expeditions, ranging from a four day hike around New Zealand's stunning Lake Waikaremoana to seven days in primitive Papua New Guinea, allowing photography enthusiasts the chance to travel with Chris in a small group, and to learn first-hand from one of the world's most experienced and renowned travel photographers.
The itinerary for these trips is such that they offer an amazing experience simply on their own - the Fiji tour is based off a 140 foot expedition yacht that explores the remote Northern islands of Fiji and interacts with Micronesian, Melanesian and Polynesian cultural groups in the area. Once you add in the Photo Tour aspect - hands-on advice and tutorial from Chris; a focus on the photographic opportunities at each location; and the chance to travel with other like minded individuals - you have an amazing travel opportunity sure to appeal to aspiring photographers and enthusiasts the world over.
We invite you to take a look and see what you think!
Chris McLennan has been a commercial travel photographer for nearly twenty years and was recently the keynote speaker at the Photographic Society of New Zealand's Northern Region convention, hosted by the Auckland Photographic Society.
The event was an unprecedented sell out, with the organiser Nicki Maude stating; "The whole convention was deemed an enormous success... one of the very best regional conventions held in decades! This is high praise indeed and largely due to having a top keynote speaker who attracted a capacity number of registrants from Whangarei to Christchurch".
The event was hoping to attract 70 participants, but sold out at full capacity with 120.
Chris's involvement in this event was a huge success, and speaks to his ability to offer inspiration, motivation, practical advice and experience to other photographers and enthusiasts within the industry.
As further testament to Chris's international acclaim, he recently won the Outdoor Sports and Activities category in the PDN National Geographic Traveller Photo Awards. This is the second year running that Chris has received this highly commended international award.
The previous year's winning image was Chris's well known caving image of the Lost World in Waitomo, New Zealand. This year's entry was of young kiwi rider Levi Sherwood doing a motorcross stunt jump on a training farm in Tokoroa, New Zealand.
Both images - while very different - highlight Chris's unique way of seeing things, and of capturing the moment with his photography.
