Chance for teen to win VIP pass for Soundshell Finding the Future gig Sunday 28th.

Media Statement November 23, 2010

One lucky teenager will win a backstage, all access VIP pass to the City Showcase - Finding the Future gig at the Soundshell, Napier this Sunday, November 28th.

The City Showcase festival of new music gets underway this Thursday November 25th with more than 40 bands playing in the Napier CBD, giving Hawke’s Bay teenagers an unprecedented chance to experience a large scale music festival. The weekend of music will finish with an all ages, all day gig at the Soundshell, with gates opening at midday and finishing at 9pm.

Headlining at the Soundshell will be top New Zealand bands Soljah, Autozamm, I am Giant and Lisa Crawley.

Hawke’s Bay band The Phil Edwards Band will also play at the Soundshell gig after winning a nationwide Radio Network Competition to gain direct entry into the finals.

The public must vote throughout the weekend for their favourite band to play at the Soundshell with music industry panellists selecting a winner who will go on to play City Showcase London 2011.

Bands will be playing at Napier inner city retail stores and cafes, including the Jagermeister Bus, throughout the weekend and at evening gigs including The Cabana, the Sideline Bar, The Cathedral and Kazba.

City Showcase organisers are offering a number of discounts to schools and under 18’s including wristbands for $20 (normal price $30) for schools who organise a group.
