Paige carves up with Subaru

Paige Hareb, New Zealand’s top woman Pro-Surfer has joined forces with Subaru of New Zealand.

Hareb is ranked 9th in the world and is one of the 17 selected surfers that compete in the ASP Women’s World Tour also known as the Dream Tour. She is the first woman in New Zealand to join the Dream Tour.

2011 will mark her third year on the tour thanks to her hard work and determination.

Subaru of New Zealand has recognised the talent in this spirited 20 year-old and has stepped in as a supporter. “Paige’s many successes and her competitive drive fits in well with the Subaru brand essence of ‘Confidence in Motion’,” says Wallis Dumper, Managing Director Subaru of New Zealand.

Hareb now drives an All Wheel Drive Subaru Impreza XV, a crossover vehicle that combines the capabilities of an SUV with the feel and handling of a sports hatch, providing higher ground clearance, enhanced suspension, and the unique low-centre-of-gravity Boxer engine.

Initially Paige has chosen an Impreza XV to be the ideal car for her, as it provides her with adventure without compromise. She will be an ambassador for all Impreza models as time moves on and as Paige discovers the invisible advantages of All Wheel Drive whilst challenging the forces of nature in her profession.

It’s no wonder that Hareb has been riding the waves of success. Her father Mike Hareb taught her from the young age of 6 to surf at Oakura Beach, just outside of New Plymouth. She has always had a competitive nature with a natural aspiration towards a sporting career.

Check out the Dream Tour and our very own Pro-Surfer when the ASP Women’s World Tour arrives on our shores. The event will be held in Hareb’s hometown of New Plymouth from 26th April – 1st May 2011. For more information visit www.nzsurffestival.com
