Cathay Pacific’s the Wing Named as World’s Best Airport Lounge
Cathay Pacific’s signature airport lounge in Hong Kong, The Wing, has been named as the world’s best airport lounge by leading US guidebook publisher, Frommers.
In a guide specially compiled for USA Today, to accompany a feature on the benefits and pitfalls of lounge use, Frommers put The Wing at the top of its list of the world’s top 10 executive lounges, ahead of Virgin’s Upper Class Clubhouse at London Heathrow and Malaysian Airlines’ Satellite Golden Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

The Wing was praised in the USA Today article for offering a wide range of facilities – including individual bath and shower rooms with their own mini bars, a library, noodle/bar restaurant, three bars and “personal living spaces” equipped with a desk, soft chair and seat – for First and Business Class passengers departing from HKIA.
The lounge is currently going through a phased renovation, which is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2012.
