International Reggae Artist In Wellington

Date: Thursday 17th February 2011

By: Rob @ Roots Connect

American born Samoan reggae artist J Boog is in Gisborne for the inaugural Reggaelution. This event is a music festival featuring the best of New Zealand reggae, and around 5000 people are expected the head to the Outdoor Sound Shell for the show.

J Boog’s hit single, “lets do it again” is the only Pacific Reggae song to crack the international radio airwaves. Pacific Reggae is a style of reggae influenced by the sounds of Aotearoa and the Pacific Islands, and is currently leading the international reggae revival.

Promoter Rob Coe-Tipene of Roots Connect says, “Our crew are excited to have J Boog headlining the concert. We’re lucky to have an international musician performing and it’s humbling to have him here. We’re rapt to be bringing Reggaelution to Gisborne, and the local support has been massive.”

J Boog is in town for Reggaelution before starting The Sweet Summer Tour, a three-week, seven-show tour. The tour will go to Opononi, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Whakatane, Wellington, and Whanganui, with Che Fu, Three Houses Down and Foundation.
