Meet Playwright Arthur Meek
An NZ Book Month event this weekend at the Michael King Writers’ Centre
The Michael King Writers’ Centre will hold an open afternoon to celebrate New Zealand Book Month, featuring the current writer-in-residence, playwright Arthur Meek, on Sunday 6 March from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Arthur has written for stage, screen and radio, worked as an actor and performed in musical comedy. Last year he received the Best New Play and Outstanding New Playwright Awards in the Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards. He was nominated for the Bruce Mason Playwriting Award. His 2008 show, On the Conditions and Possibilities of Helen Clark Taking Me as Her Young Lover, was performed throughout the country.
Come to meet the man and look around the historic Signalman’s House – in a relaxed fashion with the Devonport Friends of the Michael King Writers’ Centre. A free cup of tea is offered to all who call in.
