Books wanted for Blue Oyster reading room
Dunedin's Blue Oyster Project Art Space is looking for contributions of art books and magazines for a new reading room.
Director Jamie Hanton says the reading room will collect specialist contemporary art material including some of the smaller local art publications and zines.
"We will include all the Blue Oyster's own archives, books and catalogues from other project art spaces in New Zealand and other material that isn't collected by the mainstream libraries.
"It's important that a project art space like the Blue Oyster is an educational hub for people interested in contemporary art practice. There will be material that supports our exhibitions, so people who are looking for more information and reading can find it," says Hanton.
The reading room is currently under construction and Hanton says an official opening is anticipated in the next few weeks.
