Crusaders Rampant as Tui Cash-for-Try Tally Hits $60,000
The Crusaders notched up another
impressive win in the Super Rugby competition on Friday
night, scoring four tries against the Chiefs and adding
another $20,000 to the Tui cash-for try tally.
Last month Tui, long term sponsor of rugby in the Canterbury region, issued a cash-for-try incentive to the Crusaders for the rest of their Super Rugby round robin games. Each try is now worth $5,000, with all proceeds going to help revive Canterbury’s earthquake stricken rugby community.
The Super Rugby competition favorites, Crusaders, scored four tries to one in the win against the Chiefs on Friday at Baypark Stadium. The impressive Cantabrian side have now crossed the line 12 times in the past three matches, racking up an impressive $60,000 for the Canterbury Rugby community - through Tui’s cash-for-try incentive.
The inform Crusaders team seem to be an unstoppable force in the competition in recent weeks having won their last six consecutive matches And with this in mind, other teams should be watchful as the Crusaders now have influential captain and crowd favorite Richie McCaw back in the side after his long injury layoff.
Tui marketing manager Jarrod Bear says, “The Crusaders have been playing exciting rugby this season, the players look sharp and the team are executing to a well prepared game plan. Their great form is brilliant as it is also driving a benefit off the field. In scoring four more tries this week the Crusaders raised yet another $20,000 for Canterbury’s Rugby Community.”
