International Laughter Yoga Day
International Laughter Yoga Day
For the last 16 years, tens of thousands of Laughter Yoga Club members around the world have gathered together on the first Sunday in May, to laugh and pray for world peace.
This Sunday the International Laughter Yoga Day will be celebrated for the second time at Victory Community Centre in Nelson with a Laughter Yoga session.
Yoga Leader, Marion Angela says
laughter is our body’s natural antidote to stress, and
laughter ‘yoga’ is a deceptively simple and very
powerful form of exercise.
“It combines laughter
exercises with yogic breathing which is quite different from
traditional yoga with postures, “ she says. “Laughter is
a universal language which transcends all barriers of age,
gender, language, hierarchy, physical abilities, race,
religion, and political beliefs.”
The Laughter Yoga session is at 11am on Sunday 1 May. The session lasts one hour and participants are asked to bring a yoga mat or towel. $2 entry.
