Kindread Announce New Zealand South Island
Dates
THE
FREE WORLD NZ TOUR
New Zealand, be ready to embrace the good vibes from Australia’s Funk/Dub/Reggae outfit KINDREAD this May/June as the band brings their ‘Free World’ tour to the South Island.
Since the release of their debut album ‘Free World’ in June 2010, Kindread have been making waves on the national and international markets, with a touring schedule that has kept the band in focus on the Australian shores. The band will be bringing their Funk/Reggae grooves to the South Island of New Zealand announcing the dates of their ‘Free World NZ Tour’.
Kindread have been working hard over the past 4 years, building a profile in the music scene with their tenacious touring schedule. In mid-2009 the band locked them selves away to record their monumental debut album ‘Free World’. The band has followed the release with a touring schedule that has seen them plough their way along the Australian east coast, spreading their infectious good vibes. The band has received huge support from commercial, independent and community radio Australia-wide. Recently they released the video clip to their first single ‘Heavy Breathing’, and now they are promoting the second single release which happens to be the title track ‘Free World’. The video is already getting great support from national TV shows ‘Landed Music’ and ‘Rage’.
In the making of the “Free World” album, Kindread collaborated extensively with world class engineers Paul Pilsneniks (Studio 301, Byron Bay) and Leon Zervos (Sterling Sound, NY) who has worked with the likes of Muse, Santana, INXS, Crowded House, Maroon 5 etc. “We were very happy with the final product of the Free World album. Our aim was to create an exciting and captivating listening journey of world music with big pop anthems which we believe was very successful! We pride ourselves on creating an epic live performance and our show is full of dynamic grooves. We love creating good positive vibes and making people dance, while also engaging them… mind, body and soul. The new CD will be a maturity of the album release.” says Brett Gadenne (Lead Vocalist and Producer).
Influenced by many of New Zealand’s own greats such as The Black Seeds, Salmonella Dub and Kora, the band have been classed as the Australian version of this funk/dub/reggae flavour. 2011 is no rest for this hard working independent act who are already in the studio working on another CD. The band is taking time out of the recording to come to the shores of New Zealand in pre-release of the next CD. The band is keen to roll on the momentum from the recent album release and have their sights set on the South Island.
Kindread will be promoting the release of their debut album on this run and showcasing what is to come from the new CD which will be released later in 2011.
