The Edge’s Hug a Ginga Day Coming Up
The Edge’s Hug a Ginga Day Coming Up
For the past five years The Edge’s annual Hug A Ginga Day has been held as an opportunity for redheads to be celebrated, with a hug, by their friends, families and colleagues.
In the past, Hug A Ginga Day has not been without its controversial moments. In response, The Edge has renamed the day as ‘The Edge Heart A Ginga Day’ to demonstrate 100% support and love for redheaded people all over New Zealand! This Friday, rather than just a ‘hug’, New Zealanders can show their support and appreciation anyway they like with love. It could be as simple as a handshake, a card, baking a cake, or buying your redhead friends a coffee or a drink at the pub. “It’s about showing Gingas some appreciation and making them feel proud of their flaming locks,” said Leon Wratt, Programme Director of The Edge.
The Edge will have Heart A Ginga Day stations set up across the country in 17 locations, where redheads can go and receive some Ginga love.
If people still wish to hug a Ginga, “please hug responsibly” says Dom Harvey from The Edge. “You can watch our Hug A Ginga etiquette video at theedge.co.nz.”
‘The Edge Heart
A Ginga Day’ is this Friday, May 27 – check out
