2 Lombard Street, Wellington.

Boofa ( pronounced boo fa ), an experimental electronic music producer and fresh name on the New Zealand scene, shares with us an aural and visual feast of discerning tasters, by way of material from his forthcoming audio visual album. Immersive visuals, experimental beats and the most twisted of loops will for one night define, an original moment in time …
Boofa’s music challenges the listener to think outside the conventions of middle ground Electronica. Through sparse sonic soundscapes layered with dark hip hop beats, minor key mysteries travel through pulsing sub frequencies, the experience wonderfully intense.
On hearing these harmoniously merged elements of sound, you would be forgiven for reminiscing about Vangelis’ Blade Runner soundtrack or comparing the sound to beat makers such as Four Tet, Boards of Canada or Nosaj Thing. And yet, as you take it all in, you will recognise there is a individuality to Boofa’s sound - it’s depth will lead you on a journey into a sublime state.
For one night only, The Service Depot , Wellington’s “it” fashion boutique, will be transformed for this exclusive event, into an avant garde installation of sight and sound. Visuals on the night will create an immersive multi sensual experience.
Boofa’s forthcoming album entitled “a/b” unveils a dark and extreme ambience within its soundtrack, revealing a place where ethereal goodness meets beautifully grounded glitch. An audio visual album encompassing both CD and DVD, “a/b” will feature visuals from video artists from around the globe and 5.1 surround sound audio.
