Motocross GP of Portugal is also on this weekend at
the Agueda Circuit. Ben Townley went 14th, 13th, 14th, 15th
and then disappeared - he was given 33rd.
I
noted that in E-MX2's first moto that Dylan Ferrandis won by
22 seconds. The same French 'kid' that was here for the
Junior Worlds in 2009 and was just soo fast on that Bud 85.
MX3 and WMX is on at Vantaa in Finland tonight. Joel
Doeksen did not go as it's 4000 kms each way from their base
in Holland. I did have a longer story about it as I spoke
to them on Wednesday night. Suffice to say they know where
he's at 26th overall and would rather be better prepared for
Italy next weekend. He is racing closer to home tonight and
tomorrow.
They have has big dramas with their KRM
Motorhome. After they bought it and did several trips in it
Mercedes Benz came looking for them. Mr KRM had gone
'insolvent' and not paid Mercedes for the rolling chassis.
Add to that one of the motohomes he still owned was alleged
to have been involved in smuggling between Russia and
Scandanavia so Mr KRM was locked up. Whilst all this legal
drama goes on they cannot use the Motorhome. They using an
apartment in Holland and when 'out of town' have to use
hotels which is an expensive exercise in itself.
Latest from ilabb's Seadon Baker on Friday when he
lost his locks:
"Since the passing of my close Friend
Jake Boyd some years ago, I have always had the Goal to do
Shaveforacure to raise money for the people who suffer from
the harsh illness of Leukaemia and Blood Cancers.
5
weeks ago I set out to reach a goal of raising $2000 for the
Leukaemia & Blood Cancer Foundation.Like every goal set I
thought I was a little Ambitious! But over the past weeks I
have been overwhelmed with amazing support from so many kind
friends and family. who have now helped me raise well over
$3500!! I want to thank every person who has taken the time
and generosity to donate no matter how little or much.. You
ALL are such kind and amazing people and your support I know
will go a long way to making others lives easier."
You can
still donate: http://www.shaveforacure.co.

I caught up with Carl Sorenson
who is going to build and run the Motocross Park at Puhinui
out near the Auckland International Airport. Resource
Consent will all be done when he puts his earthmovers back
in there in Spring.
You will remember last Labour
Weekend he ran a Motocross at Manukau as part of the Full
Throttle weekend of events. Big turnout, great track, almost
marred by Tony Cooksley's heart attack - how could we forget
it? Anyway Carl has been asked by the new SuperCity
Council to run it again. Probably Saturday and Sunday this
time but will use transponders and have trophies. Wants to
mix it up a bit, such as a Two Stroke Cup etc. So if you
are not going to Taupo's Extravaganza diary Labour Weekend
at Manukau.
Sorry it's brief but I will resurrect some
of those lost stories during the week. There was material
on the World SBK - Superbikes at Silverstone and The Isle of
Man TT which will now be out of date.
