Funding fair for community groups

Funding fair for community groups

Key community funders and support agencies will be gathered in one place for a funding fair on August 1.

The event, part of ASB Community Trust’s annual public meeting, will make representatives of Auckland Council, New Zealand Lotteries, the Lion Foundation, Sky City Community Trust and ASB Community Trust available to discuss not-for-profit funding opportunities.

A number of support organisations will also be at the fair, explaining how they can help community organisations with resources such as low-cost software and volunteer help. This will include Volunteering Auckland, the Tech Soup software initiative, FundView the on-line database of funding resources, North Shore Community and Social Services and the Charities Commission.

The event, at Eden Park’s ASB Lounge, begins with a public meeting at 1pm. ASB Community Trust will present the results of its $40 million a year grant-making programme and give an overview of priorities for the year ahead. The funding fair will follow the public meeting.

ASB Community Trust’s Trustees and staff will also be available to talk informally with community group representatives after the meeting, offering visitors the opportunity to share their plans and visions for the future.

If you plan to attend, please email info@ASBCommunityTrust.org.nz with details how many people will be coming with you.
