Young & Hungry Wgtn ‘Zombie Walk’

Young & Hungry Wgtn ‘Zombie Walk’

A Disorderly hunt for brains in the Wellington CBD!

The undead took to the streets of Wellington to publicize the Young and Hungry Festival of New Theatre 2011, with zombie actors from Thomas Sainsbury’s play Disorder invading the public in full gory apocalyptic zombie apparel.

Make-up was professionally applied by the team from Body FX, who are assisting and mentoring the casts Zombies how to apply the prosthetic wounds for the season of the play.

As they hit the streets the hoard was joined by the Hell Pizza Hearse, which acted as a gothic guard of honor for the scrambling zombie rampage.

Brains weren’t on the menu, as the bloody mob made their way down Cuba Street to the bucket fountain to terrify the public and hand out flyers!

Disorder is just one of three new kiwi plays premiering as part of the Young and Hungry Festival of New Theatre at BATS Theatre this Friday and running until August 6th.

Young and Hungry is an annual theatre festival created by young people with the intention of making accessible, unique and completely new theatre. The 2011 season also includes exciting new works from Whiti Hereaka (For Johnny) and new playwright Aaron Alexander (Hearts Encoded).

In its seventeenth year at BATS Theatre, Young and Hungry has a tried and true reputation for edgy original New Zealand theatre.

So keep your eyes peeled for zombies in the CBD and a theatre near you!

Disorder is proudly supported by Hell Pizza.
